Oh, I will miss you, Julie. I always looked forward to seeing you at our Marine Resources Committee conferences and at Fisher Poets. I remember getting to know you years ago and being impressed with your knowledge. It was clear that you were a smart and passionate advocate for people and the planet. I always learned something new from having a conversation with you. No doubt you will be there in spirit the next time I attend an event and expect to see you. I will remember you and miss you.

A giant has gone to the other side. Thane was such a boost to me as I lead Wild Salmon Nation for the decade of the 90s and was ever helpful. He helped in our efforts to remove the Condit Dam from the White Salmon River which only took 17 years.

I was happy to see him at the 2020 Fisher Poets Gathering, little did I know that would be our final farewell.

He now stands with the ancestors, ready to help, now in quiet ways.

I was a graduate student with Brock at SIO. I just came across a photograph of him and decided to look him up. Sorry to hear he had passed. We had a few great times together – several times on a SIO research ship (I recall it was the R/V Agassi). RIP
