In memory of Dr. Brock Bernstein and his tireless work on behalf of healthy oceans and fisheries, the board of the National Fisheries Conservation Center (NFCC) has established the Bernstein Memorial Fund for Oceans.
For more than 20 years until his death in 2018, Dr. Bernstein served as the beloved president of NFCC, an organization dedicated to collaborative approaches to the hardest challenges in marine conservation and ocean health.
Brock defined NFCC’s identity as a force for constructive problem solving. He helped to establish NFCC’s flagship program, Global Ocean Health, as a trusted source of research, science, and policy insight among fisheries leaders, agencies, tribes, and universities seeking to protect healthy and abundant seas.
